We were able to camp at three of the five parks that Jeri wanted to check out including, White Tank Mountain Regional Park, Lake Pleasant Regional Park, and Usery Mountain Regional Park. No wonder these campgrounds are so busy, they are great!
We really liked two things about this zoo: 1) Many animals to feed and most cost $0.50, 2) Variety of animals in the petting zoo including baby deer. Bonus: Great Boondockers Welcome host just a few blocks away.
We were in Tucson for a week and had a lot of fun. Planning a trip to Tucson? We recommend you visit Saguaro National Park and camp at Gilbert Ray Campground, eat at Little Anthony's Diner, pet cats at El Jefe Cat Lounge, and visit Tombstone with this Groupon.

We finally decided our only option was to bring in one slide slowly and see what happened to the snow. Unfortunately, we ran into an issue. Traveling during the winter? Make sure you have this tool in case your RV slide-out topper is frozen.
We got on the bus headed to Bright Angel Lodge and while the bus was stopped at the Train Depot the driver told us that the Grand Canyon steam locomotive was pulling in. We jumped off the bus and watched The Train pull in. It was so cool to watch the train go by and the horn sounded awesome. Later as we hiked Rim Trail up to Trailview Overlook we looked back across the Grand Canyon towards the Train Depot and we could see the steam from the train over the treeline. That was really neat!

Once we got through the mud we turned onto Route 66 and we were on our way. The clouds, sun, and mountains were really pretty. I love how clean everything is after the rain. Along the way, we came across the Burma Shave signs. These were a series of rhyming signs with the last sign having the Burma Shave name.
Our next stop was Stetson Winery, another Harvest Hosts. We were excited to taste some wines and then walk back to our motorhome and relax. It is so nice to be able to walk home after wine tasting. If you love wine and you like boondocking you have to check out Harvest Hosts.
During our first year on the road we tried to visit the Petrified Forest National Park on 2/18/2019 but it snowed so much overnight that NPS never opened the park. Just over three years later we were ready to try again. Petrified Forest National Park take two!
